This mesa cloth is used for ceremonies and is from Ausangate, a snow-capped mountain with special significance to the people of Quechua-speaking population of Peru. The threads are made from the natural colors of the alpaca. It is handmade and has designs of the fauna, representing the alpacas and the Chacana (Quechua word for the Andean cross).
